The main objective of the current scholarships program is to give an impetus for the development of biotechnologies in Ecuador through the support of students and professionals in pre and post-grade thesis Works as well as professional internships.
    
 
In this particular context Concepto Azul offers the “Lucia Carrera” scholarships in memory of the Spanish scientist Lucia Carrera Ferrer (1962-1996).

Investigation themes will be directly linked to biotechnologies applied to human and animal medicine, aquaculture, agriculture and environmental conservation biology.

    
  The selection comity is composed by scientific and technical team members of Concepto Azul.    
         
  Pre or post-grades thesis scholarships.    
    What is included in the scholarship?    
   
  1. Cover of all reagent and equipment expenses necessary to the investigation program.
  2.  Cover of logistic requirement expenses  for the fulfilment of the investigation program (when applicable).
  3. Equipment supply and access to necessary infrastructures for the development of the investigation Program (when applicable).
  4. Scientific and technical supervision by Concepto Azul investigation team designation of a tutor directly in charge with the follow-up of the investigation.
  5. Revision and correction of the final document, thesis or memorandum.
  6. Support for the presentation and justification of the work once achieved.
  7. Lodging (in the case of non residents of Guayaquil).
    
         
    Duration of the Scholarships:    
    Minimum 3 months and one year maximum (depending on personal projects).    
         
    Requirements:    
   
  1. Being a pre or post grade  student of university institution  officially recognized by the CONESUP (for Ecuadorian students) or similar institution (in the case of overseas students).
  2. Resume.
  3. Present two personal references: on academic and one personal.
  4. Motivation letter.
  5. Attend a personal interview with the selection comity of Concepto Azul.
  6. Sign up the scholarship agreement.
    
         
   

 

    
  Scholarships for internships    
    What is included in the scholarship?    
   
  1. A training program under the aegis of a personal tutor and the technical and scientific support from Concepto Azul investigation team.
  2. Cover of all reagent and equipment expenses necessary to the investigation program.
  3. Cover of logistic requirements expenses  for the fulfilment of the investigation program (when applicable).
  4. Equipment supply and access to necessary infrastructures for the development of the investigation Program (when applicable).
  5. Lodging (in the case of non residents of Guayaquil).
    
         
    Duration of the scholarship:    
    Minimum 3 months and maximum 6 months (depending on each investigation project).    
         
    Requirements:    
   
  1. Provide a Resume with detailed activities of the applicant (there is no need to have a professional degree or to be a university student; applicants without specific academic background have access to this program. Applications will be evaluated on case by case basis.
  2. Present two personal references (academic, personal or professional).
  3. Letter of motivation.
  4. Attend a personal interview with the selection comity of Concepto Azul.
